WHO I AM
I am Frontline Primary Care, Community, Clinical & Compounding Pharmacist, who provides comprehensive pharmacy services, including specialty compounding, medication therapy and disease state management, immunization, point-of-care and pharmacogenetic testing, deprescribing, and prescribing for smoking cessation.
WHAT I DO
As a pharmacist, I provide a wide range of advice and education about prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, natural health products, medical devices, and much more. When counselling my clients, I assess potentially unnecessary medications (deprescribing) and teach them how to use medications safely and effectively, either alone or in combination with other medications, supplements and herbal products. I am also a speaker on different health-related topics and developed and taught more than 1000 hours of lectures for universities, government, and public and private educational programs.
If any of my clients are taking three or more chronic medications, have diabetes, are a resident at a long-term care home, or are physically unable to get in for a visit to their pharmacy, I can still book them for a “Clinical Pharmacist Consultation” appointment to review their prescription and non-prescription medications in detail.
If needed medications are not commercially available in the dose or form they were prescribed, being a certified compounding pharmacist, I may be able to compound ingredients from scratch to create a unique, tailored product for my clients. Additional services include:
- Pre-travel health advice and administration of travel vaccines
- On-site testing of blood sugar, HbA1c, cholesterol, and thyroid hormones
- DNA testing (pharmacogenetics) to identify medications that might pose additional risks of side-effects
- Smoking cessation coaching, advice, and treatment
- Anti-coagulation therapy monitoring and testing for people taking blood-thinning medications
- Medical Cannabis consultation
